We are delighted to announce that on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, PhD Candidate Manuel Garzón successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, "DECOLONIAL BAROQUE: BAROQUE ASPECTS OF INCA GARCILASO DE LA VEGA.” His committee included Prof. Gonzalo Lamana (Thesis Director), Prof. Elvira Vilches (External Examiner, Department of Romance Studies, Duke University), and Professors Jerome Branche and Juan Duchesne-Winter (Internal Examiners). Manuel accepted an Assistant Professor position in Spanish at Mount St. Mary's University. We wish him continued success in this new endeavor!
