Before moving to the US, I earned my bachelor's degree in English Linguistics and Literature at the university of Seville (Spain), and completed a 1-year grad program in TEFL. I moved to Ohio in 2015, where I earned a master's degree in Spanish literature and linguistics in the Department of Modern Languages at Ohio University. Afterwards, I also graduated from a master's degree in applied linguistics at OU, where I worked as a teaching associate of Spanish for 4 years. I worked for the English Language Improvement Program of Ohio University as well, as a tutor for the graduate reading and writing lab, and for the pronunciation & presentation lab. I love teaching, and helping others learn my native language is one of my passions.

My research interests are mainly in the field of applied linguistics and SLA in relation to the acquisition of Spanish as a second and FL, L2 writing, pronunciation instruction, CALL, L2 pedagogy and teacher education, and learners’ attitudes. Other research interests include foreign language accent perception, varieties of Spanish in the US, bilingualism, computer mediated communication and the use of virtual environments in language instruction
