Congratulations to Edgar Colón Meléndez, who successfully defended his dissertation

Congratulations to Edgar Colón Meléndez, who successfully defended his dissertation “El ajedrez en la literatura Argentina: Borges, Walsh, Piglia”, where he studies chess as a device in the works of Borges (El jardín de senderos que se bifurcan), Rodolfo Walsh short stories and Ricardo Piglia’s Respiración artificial and La ciudad ausente. An analysis of the dynamic structure of El jardín de senderos que se bifurcan, as well as Walsh’s elliptical narrations/ politics, and Piglia’s hypertextuality regarding his friend/ maestro Walsh are part of his discussion. His dissertation committee was composed of Dr. Daniel Balderston (Chair), Dr. Fernando Degiovanni (external reader, City University of New York), Dr. Áurea María Sotomayor and Dr. Juan Duchesne Winter. Muchas felicidades, Dr. Edgar Colón.
