She has participated in graduate colloquiums in California and received an honorable mention for her graduate student paper at the international Conference on Ethnicity, Race and Indigenous People in 2011. During her first year at Pitt she acted as the Graduate Student representative for the Department of Hispanic Languages & Literatures.
