Chiara started teaching Language, Literature, and Culture courses in Spanish, Italian, and English in 1998 and she coordinated the English Program in Salamanca, the Italian Program at Penn State, and directed the Spanish Language Program at University of Pittsburgh. A double major of Hispanic Literatures and Comparative Studies.
