Brazil Club
Brazil Nuts Portuguese Club
Brazil Nuts is an active student organization whose primary goal is student exposure to Brazilian culture and the Portuguese language. Whether you speak Portuguese or not, you are welcome to participate in the club!
Our goal is to bring a recognition and appreciation for Brazilian culture to the students at the University of Pittsburgh and the residents of the city. In order to meet this goal we offer a variety of events that cater to many interests. These events include: Movie Nights, Dance Group, and Bate Papo. At movie nights we show a Brazilian movie with English subtitles once or twice a month.
Dance Group is a weekly activity that is held in Posvar Hall where we teach and practice Axé, Samba, and other Brazilian dances. Our dance group performs each year at our Brazilian Festival and is often invited to perform at other events on campus. “Bate-Papo,” is our conversation table that takes place once a week in the William Pitt Union where students and Portuguese fans alike can practice and improve their speaking skills.
