José Quiroga is the author of several acclaimed books including Tropics of Desire: interventions in Queer Latin(o) America and Cuban Palimpsests. He is also the editor of Mapa callejero, the author of Understanding Octavio Paz, and the co-author (with Daniel Balderston) of Sexualidades en disputa. He is the co-editor of an important series for Palgrave Macmillan and is one of the leading figures in the world in Latin American queer theory and criticism and Cuban studies.
